(Newser) – A capacious pair of silk bloomers worn by Queen Victoria in the 1860s sold for nearly $15,000 at an auction in Britain—more than three times the estimate. "People who collect royal memorabilia for the Victorian era see underwear as the crowning glory in their collection," a spokesman for the auctioneers tells the Daily Mail. Other items in the sale of the contents of the London home of the Forbes publishing family included a portrait of the queen with Scottish servant John Brown, which fetched $230,000.

One would not be amused to find one's underwear being auctioned off in the 21st century.

The Royal Family in England are  insignificant. Jesus accomplished more during his time on earth. Question: Does the Royal Family in England donate any part of their massive fortune to help the poor? Poverty is rampant all over the world.

Any person willing to pay 15K for those silk bloomers..... is probably a "Royal Pain in the Arse" anyway.
