Patriots Barely Survive Ravens

Posted Dec 4, 07 5:01 AM CST in Sports

(Newser) – Baltimore's best performance this season also proved to be the scariest game of the year for the Patriots, but in the end, unbeaten New England won its 12th game by three points—or three yards. Ravens QB Kyle Boller stayed in stride with Tom Brady, and the Ravens racked up more yards and even led in the final two minutes. But the Pats pulled it out, 27-24, reports the Baltimore Sun.

Leading 24-20 with 1:48 remaining, the Ravens appeared to stop New England on fourth down, but a Baltimore timeout before the play gave Brady another chance—and an eventual touchdown. Two unsportsmanlike conduct flags on the Pats' TD hampered Baltimore's stab at another score, and Boller's 52-yard pass on the final play was caught at the 3-yard-line as time ran out.
