Weird 11/11/11 Ritual Forces Pyramids' Closure

Numerologists planned to fight 'cosmic forces'

(Newser) – Egyptian officials have decided to close the pyramids today following complaints over a planned 11/11/11 ceremony that was to happen there. Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities had apparently planned to allow Polish numerologists to gather onsite and battle the “cosmic forces” set to destroy the world next year, but the council changed its mind amid protests. The numerologists’ group, Dar Swiatowida, wanted to host a “Ceremony of Love” among the pyramids; this reportedly entails putting “two interpenetrated pyramid-shaped crystals” inside the Great Pyramid.

These crystals would pull energy from every sacred site around the globe and give the pyramid extra power to help protect us from the certain doom of 2012—12/12/12 of course marking the end of the world. But conservative Egyptians weren’t happy with the idea, and the pyramids were ultimately closed for “maintenance” until tomorrow, the Telegraph reports. (In other 11/11/11 news, it's Nigel Tufnel Day!)

I'd say they should of let them do it. It's not like they're going to turn into the Sphinx into a flying saucer and create a forcefield around Earth lol
