Favre Nails Sportsman of Year

Brett Favre is Sports Illustrated's Sportsman of the Year, a title earned due to his astounding resurrection on the field, and for his many charitable and social efforts off it, the magazine says. The player teammates call "the ultimate warrior" has already surpassed Dan Marino's records for touchdown passes and wins, and will soon hold the record for total passing yards as well.

Favre's 249-game ironman streak also continues, a benchmark indicative of his philosophy. "I practice hard. I study. I never point blame at anyone else. Everything I do comes back to leadership, the example I want to set," states Favre, who at age 38 is enjoying one of his most successful seasons to date, with a career best 67.4% completion rate.
