Are you serious? What do they think would happen putting a chopper so close to all those cables and other solid objects!!!!????

The original report says the rotor clipped a guy wire.

The New Zealand story doesn't say it, but it sure looks to me like the crash was caused when the underbelly of the copter struck a thick pole that was sticking straight up. Congrats to the pilot for getting out alright, and the brave guys who climbed up to help with that engine going full blast and all that jet fuel around. Could have been much worse.
