Cats triumphed over dogs last night as the No. 8 Washington State Cougars pulled off a hard-fought 51-47 win at Gonzaga. The No. 17 Bulldogs hadn't lost at home while ranked in 55 games, but their 26% shooting and their worst first half in 11 years spelled their downfall, reports the Seattle Times.

Washington State more than doubled Gonzaga's shooting percentage in the first half, reaching 54%. Although the Bulldogs would battle back to narrow the gap, they didn't have enough steam to overcome the Cougars' defense, which kept Matt Bouldin, who averages 14.4 points per game, scoreless in 29 minutes.
