Britney Faces Child Abuse Probe

Posted Dec 6, 07 6:19 AM CST in Gossip Arts & Living

(Newser) – LA child welfare authorities are investigating "multiple" allegations of child abuse and neglect concerning pop princess Britney Spears, AP reports. Officials are concerned about the safety her two young sons when left in Spears' care, according to a statement from a county attorney. His comments were part of a family services agency's request to unseal court documents in the custody case between Spears and ex-husband Kevin Federline.

The attorney revealed no details about the allegations. But he did ask that the current custody arrangement remain in place until the investigation is completed. Spears lost custody of the boys to Federline after failing or missing court-ordered drug tests.
