What is OJ Simpson doing in an ad about Mitt Romney? Pointing out just how long Romney’s been in the political game. A new ad from the American Bridge PAC takes aim at Romney’s recent assertion that he’s an outsider who has no political career by showing clips of him campaigning in 1994—alongside clips reminding viewers just how long ago that was, like a Today Show “What is the Internet?” segment, the Friends premiere, and, of course, OJ’s notorious Bronco chase.

The video won’t exactly hurt Romney in a heads-up race against Gingrich, who positively reeks of 1994. But that may not be the point—the ad, after all, isn’t from one of Romney’s GOP rivals, but from a progressive PAC. It came, Mediaite tells us, with a memo from Bill Burton, who worked for Obama’s 2008 campaign and briefly for his administration. (More American Bridge PAC stories.)
