Warriors Put Up Fight for Defeat of Heat

(Newser) – Golden State's home crowd deserves a share of their 120-113 defeat of the Miami Heat, but that's not to say the Warriors didn't earn their victory. Stephen Jackson contributed 28 points, Baron Davis 25, and Monta Ellis 21 as the team surged back from an 18-point deficit, reports the San Jose Mercury News. In slightly quieter NBA arenas:

  • Chris Paul's 43 points included the overtime-winning layup in New Orleans's hard-fought 118-116 win over Memphis.
  • The injury-plagued Kings couldn't hold on to a halftime lead, allowing the Clippers to break a seven-game skid, 97-87.
  • Kevin Durant had his ROY hat on in a 35-point, five-block performance that led to a rare Seattle victory, 104-98 over Milwaukee.
