Horrific new details in the murder of 9-year-old Aliahna Lemmon: The neighbor who was watching her and her two sisters has admitted to beating her to death with a brick before dismembering her with a hacksaw and hiding her body parts, according to an affidavit released today. It does not, however, reveal what caused Michael Plumadore to murder the child, who was reported missing Friday and found dead yesterday.

A relative tells the AP that Plumadore "was a trusted family friend" who was living in Aliahna’s grandfather’s mobile home and had cared for that man until he died earlier this month. Police say Plumadore changed his story, initially claiming Aliahna went missing sometime Friday before ultimately confessing to killing her early Thursday, as she stood on his front steps. Police say he hid the child’s head, feet, and hands in his freezer, and disposed of other body parts in a nearby business’ trash container, the News-Sentinel reports. (More Aliahna Lemmon stories.)
