Celtics Win No. 17 as Bulls Come Up Short

Posted Dec 9, 07 5:45 AM CST in Sports

(Newser) – With a 92-81 road victory in Chicago, the Boston Celtics improved to 17-2 on the season and stretched their current streak to six games. Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo led the team with 21 and 18 points each; the Bulls' high scorer was sixth-man Andres Nocioni with 18, the Boston Globe reports. In less inevitable NBA action:

  • Big Al Jefferson inspired Minnesota and stunned Phoenix with his 32-point, 20-rebound monster game, as the Timberwolves took the game, 100-93.
  • Deron Williams had 41 points for Utah, but Josh Howard outdid him with 47, and in the end Dallas outplayed the Jazz, 125-117.
