Moments after the clock struck midnight, turning 2011 into 2012, LeBron James dropped to his knee and asked his high school sweetheart to marry him. "My girl, she's very excited," James says of Savannah Brinson, who said yes. James and Brinson, who have two sons together, had talked about marriage before, but the AP notes that the proposal was a surprise. Miami Heat teammate Dwyane Wade held the ring until the time was right. Says James, "It should be a surprise for any woman anytime something like that happens."
