No more Mrs. Nice Presidential Candidate: Michele Bachmann says if she were president, she'd put Iran in its place by putting US missiles on alert and threatening a blockade, she told CBS today. Following Iran's announcement that it had developed a nuclear fuel rod, Bachmann said she'd deploy Patriot and ballistic missiles here and in the Middle East to prove that "we will do whatever it takes," the AP reports.

Looking to shore up support ahead of tomorrow's caucuses in Iowa, Bachmann's campaign released its first TV spot today, which points to Bachmann's Iowa roots, saying she's "one of our own." Seeking to avoid finishing in last place, Bachmann is hoping for a "miracle." She joins Rick Santorum in calling for an Iran crackdown. (More Michele Bachmann stories.)
