Could Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum team up to defeat Iowa caucus winner Mitt Romney? Gingrich floated the possibility when Laura Ingraham asked him about it today on her radio show. "Absolutely," Gingrich responded. "I mean Rick and I have a 20-year friendship. We are both rebels, we both came into this business as reformers, we both dislike deeply the degree to which the establishment sells out the American people. We both think Washington has to be changed in very fundamental ways, and we have lots of things that fit together." Does that mean a possible Santorum/Gingrich alliance is in the works? "Who knows," writes Andrew Sullivan at the Daily Beast. "But Gingrich is pissed." (More Newt Gingrich 2012 stories.)
