Pats Stay Perfect, Whip Steelers

(Newser) – Steelers safety Anthony Smith probably won't guarantee another win anytime soon after his team was defeated handily by the New England Patriots, 34-13, on the strength of four Tom Brady TD passes, reports AP. Smith was burned twice on long touchdowns and verbally sparred with Brady after the Pats' first score to Randy Moss, who had two TD receptions.

The Steelers (9-4) came into the game with the No. 1 defense in the NFL but were lit up for nearly 400 yards through the air. They stayed close early on but were shut out after halftime. Brady now stands four shy of Peyton Manning's single season record of 49 TD passes, a mark he is likely to eclipse.
