Todd Palin Endorses Gingrich

But Sarah Palin still hasn't picked her horse

(Newser) – The First Dude has waded into the 2012 GOP nomination: Todd Palin today told ABC News that he's throwing his support behind Newt Gingrich, saying that the former House speaker wasn't one of those typical "Beltway types" and that he admired his grittiness in persevering after his campaign imploded last summer. Gingrich's campaign has “burst out of the political arena and touched many Americans," Palin said, adding that he hadn't been in touch with aforementioned campaign as yet. As for Mrs. Palin? She hasn't yet decided “who is best able to go up against Barack Obama," says Todd Palin.

(NEWSER) - "I've always believed the mission was greater than the man," said Rick Perry this morning, as he announced that he is no longer the man for the mission. Perry officially bowed out of the GOP race for the presidential nomination in an 11am press conference, and threw his support, as expected, behind Newt Gingrich, praising him as a "conservative visionary who can transform our country."
