(Newser) – A Polish pop singer has been fined for disparaging the Bible. Dorota Rabczewska, who goes by the stage name Doda, said in an interview that she doubted the Bible because "it's hard to believe in something that was written by someone drunk on wine and smoking herbs." She was fined $1,450 for offending religious feelings, reports AP. The case was seen as a test of continuing Catholic influence and freedom of expression in the increasingly secular nation. A court recently let off a death metal performer who tore a Bible during a performance, deeming it artistic expression.

The problem is that the STATE has been poisoned by insemination from the church. NOBODY gives a RAT'S ASS if the Catholic church chooses to disfellowship some pop singer over perceived or actual wrongs. NOBODY. That is entirely a matter between the church and the offending member. But that is as far as it goes. In this case, we have the friggin' state administering penalties for imaginary insults upon imaginary beings existing in a realm WHOLLY SEPARATE from the observable universe. That is the evil. The state, which implies "power of the gun to enforce law" has been corrupted to use force against what is and always should be a matter of conscience and opinion alone.

That $1450 fine is 11.8% of their nation income per capita of $12,300. That's huge. That would be $5681 here based on our $48,147 per capita just for doubting the Bible. Maybe we should that with science.
