Add this to the many, many, many problems of Arlington National Cemetery: About $12 million is missing, reports the Washington Post. Federal auditors say they can't find a trace of the money, allocated between 2004 and 2010. The news emerged at a Senate hearing yesterday, and Claire McCaskill has a guess:

“It’s not clear if it was returned, if it was spent, or where it is," said the Missouri senator, who made a point to praise the work of the cemetery's new leadership in cleaning house. “I don’t think there is any indication of people walking out with it. I think this is incompetence ... gross incompetence.” (More Arlington National Cemetery stories.)
