Melo Pushes Nuggets Past Hornets 105-99

Posted Dec 13, 07 4:28 AM CST in Sports

(Newser) – Carmelo Anthony wasn't hot at the start of last night's game, but by the fourth quarter he delivered a clutch 7-for-11 shooting run, and added a crucial rebound and free throw for good measure. His efforts locked up Denver's 105-99 victory over New Orleans, the Denver Post reports. Elsewhere in the NBA:

  • Michael Redd's first double-double in three years was nearly a triple (27 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists), and enough to lead Milwaukee to a 100-86 dousing of Orlando.
  • A true team effort brought Portland past Golden State, 105-95, to mark the Blazers' fifth straight win. "We were beaten by a better team tonight," said Warriors coach Don Nelson.
