(Newser) Afghanistan may still be seething over US troops who burned Korans last week, but Rick Santorum is joining those conservatives taking aim at President Obama's efforts to diffuse the situation. Speaking today on Meet the Press, Santorum slapped at the president's apology over the incident, saying he shouldn't have apologized "for something that was clearly inadvertent. There was no deliberate act. This is something that occurred that shouldn't have occurred, but it was an accident."

Au contraire, it is the Afghan people and Hamid Karzai who need to apologize for "overreacting," Santorum said. "The response ... of attacking and killing our men and women in uniform, and overreacting to this mistake ... That is the real crime, not what our soldiers did," Santorum said, according to Politico.

It wasn't an ACCIDENT, fer Chrissake! It would have been an ACCIDENT if the Korans had been in a building that burned down or something. It was not intended to offend, but it shows an abysmal lack of training of the people involved. Unfortunately, they will be the ones hung out to dry, not their dimwit superiors.

First God is not a religion,He is just who He is.Man has corrupted many things by twisting the word of God around. But God is very real.I do mean one true living God! I have also read much of the quran to see what they teach,It is based on lies. The Holy Bible is not,it has been researched for a long time, and its writings are true.Saying this the word of God and His hope is not what you call it.It is your hope and you can be delivered from what you are going through in your life.Back to what i want to say about this.Yes for those people there is always an excuse to kill Americans,it could be they just felt like it.But they demand for our country to apologize to them! this is an a total insult to us! and to the families who lost their loved one for no good reason! I do agree with you on this. That allowing them to make it look like they have any sort of domination over us is wrong.I believe that this is a reason for us to strike back and say we are not going to take you killing our people! we will stop your concerns about your quran right now! that is how i see it.Allowing them to make up excuses to kill our people has been old.And we should not allow them to think they can just keep on doing our people this way.We need to get our people out of these countries. And we need to be ready to do what is Necessary for defense without endangering our own people any further.

i don't hear anyone apologizing for the murder of the people that died over the burning of the korans. it's just a book. it's flammable. burning it doesn't wipe out all the stupid shit muslims believe no more than burning a bible wipes out the stupid shit christians believe (which is mostly the same dumb shit). just means there's one less piece of trash littering someone's bookshelf / library / book store / bed. i'm tired of being expected to be respectful of the wackos that believe this nonsense. and i'm especially sick of pretending that when a muslim murders someone for the burning of some paper, it was the burner's fault. fuck religion!
