Graham Sorry for Doubting Obama's Faith

He couldn't say 'categorically' that Obama wasn't Muslim

(Newser) – Franklin Graham has apologized for comments he made on MSNBC's Morning Joe last week in which he seemed evasive about whether he considered President Obama a Christian. "I regret any comments I have ever made which may have cast any doubt on the personal faith of our president, Mr. Obama," Graham said in a statement. He said that he does not support Obama for reelection, but that "his faith has nothing to do with my consideration of him as a candidate."

The evangelist had come under fire from a religious subgroup of the NAACP, which accused him of "bearing false witness," by implying Obama was a Muslim, the Religion News Service reports. When asked whether he believed Obama was a Christian, Graham replied, "You have to ask him," though he did say he accepted Obama's word that he was. Asked if he believed categorically that Obama was not a Muslim he said, "I can't say categorically, because Islam has gotten a free pass under Obama." By contrast, he said there was "no question" Rick Santorum was a Christian "because his values are so clear on moral issues."

Mr. Graham, would you please highlight the bible verses which sound anything at all like Jesus Christ and Rick Santorum are on the same page?  Poor people? Nay. Sick people. Nada. Rich people? Hahahaha... now you're just making us all laugh.

Whether this douchenozzle thinks that someone is or is not a Christian is irrelevant. Appears to be un-Christianlike to judge. Matthew 7:1, "Judge not, lest ye be judged." Fundamentalist Christians have become such a curmudgeonly, unlikable bunch.

I so wish we could take religion out of politics.  When people say "you can be anything in this country," that is not quite true.  You can't be President unless you at least fake being a Christian (not too many fake being a Jew).  There are Christians (or of any other religion) and non-Christians of good character and bad character, so it is a really poor yardstick.
