Neocon No Sharper in Love Than War

Posted Apr 14, 07 1:44 PM CDT in World Politics Opinion

(Newser) – The spectacle of Paul Wolfowitz clinging to his post at the World Bank after using it to promote his girlfriend is catnip to Maureen Dowd, an arch critic of the neocon cabal that cooked up the war in Iraq: "You will not be surprised to learn, gentle readers, that Wolfie in love is no less deceptive and bumbling than Wolfie at war."

Wolfowitz was quick to apologize to save his skin at the bank, Dowd notes, but has yet to admit his mistakes in Iraq. And she suggest that rather than trying to enrich his paramour with funds earmarked for poor nations, he try diverting some of the vast oil riches he claimed would pay for the rebuilding of a liberated Iraq.
