Soon you'll be able to compete in the Hunger Games—sort of. A Facebook game based on the popular trilogy arrives March 23, the same day the first movie based on the books is released. But unlike in the Suzanne Collins novels, players in the Hunger Games Adventures won't fight to the death. Rather, they'll get assignments from book characters Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, and if those assignments involve fighting another character, only power will be lost—and players will be able to recharge.
The game, developed by Funtactix alongside Collins and the movie team, will also feature the first map of Panem, where the Hunger Games series is set. Only District 12, where Katniss and Peeta live, will be accessible for now, but the game will expand to include other parts of Panem as the next movies are released. The Huffington Post has pictures, and a link you can use to request an invite to the beta test.
