The weird crime story of the week from Raccoon Township in Pennsylvania's Beaver County. It seems a woman called police to say she found a "transmitter device" under her bed and was pretty sure her estranged husband put it there, reports the Beaver County Times. When cops approached 66-year-old Wayne Comet Cripe, he maybe shouldn't have greeted them by saying, "I guess she found the transmitter."

The strangest part might be the excuse he came up with for police: He said he wanted to know when his wife was having sex with her boyfriend so he'd know when the "coast was clear" to enter the house. (The couple are separated but still share a house.) Police were not sympathetic and charged him with misdemeanor invasion of privacy along with a felony charge of intercepting communication.
