(Newser) – President Obama weighed in today with his own reaction to the 16 Afghans allegedly gunned down by one or more US soldiers, the AP reports. He called the killings "tragic and shocking" and promised "to get the facts as quickly as possible and to hold accountable anyone responsible." Earlier, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said he talked to Afghan President Hamid Karzai, telling him a suspect had been arrested and that "we will bring those responsible to justice." The person accountable for this should be taken to justice, and dealt with harshly. No body deserves to die out of random reason, what have those Innocent civilians done? Civilian killing in Afghanistan has been routine, who are we helping? The taliban are still strong, they have plenty of support so we harm more than we gain. Now this might be a little odd but,No body wants Troops in afghanistan, why are they still there?

I'll give you "who is accountable" as quickly as possible, Barack Obama: 1. You are; 2. Congress is; 3. Leon Panetta; 4. The General in charge in Afghanistan. What's the bet you don't find ANY of those guilty and instead go after the grunt who lost his mind? Just. Go. Home. There is NOTHING you can do in Afghanistan that will be good for the Afghans or for ordinary Americans. NOTHING. You are there for the profit of a few. BRING THE TROOPS HOME!

There are several people commenting that don't understand international and Geneva convention laws. The US plays by the rule books, the enemy does not. The enemy (Taliban) routinely abuses and kills women and children without provocation but knows the West abhors this so plays on our emotions.
