Carter's Nets Run Past LeBron's Cavs

Posted Dec 15, 07 4:00 AM CST in Sports

(Newser) – New Jersey caught a break when it last played Cleveland, as star LeBron James missed the game. This time James was in the lineup and scored 29 points but the result was the same as New Jersey won, this time 105-97, reports The New York Times. Said Nets star Vince Carter, "We needed this...to get back on track." Elsewhere:

  • Orlando, facing a tough upcoming stretch of games and needing a win, leaned on budding superstar Dwight Howard, who had 33 points and 18 rebounds to stop the Magic's three game losing streak.
  • The Clippers overcame a sloppy first half with a late fourth quarter run to defeat Memphis. Chris Kaman and Corey Maggette each had 23 points.
