A mother in Zimbabwe became suspicious that her maid was trying to poison her child when she saw a drop of blood in her 4-year-old's porridge. She took her kid, the 17-year-old maid and the porridge to a hospital, where they tested it and confirmed that it was laced with the maid's menstrual blood, which was HIV-positive.
According to NewsDay, the maid "carried out the disgusting act several times until luck ran out for her when one day her employer noticed a drop of blood when her child was eating porridge and investigated."
The maid was sentenced to 10 years in prison, but will likely serve eight on the condition of good behaviour. Read the full article.
