Browns Stadium looked better suited for the Winter Olympics, but instead hosted football today, and its tenants defeated Buffalo 8-0. Cleveland's formula was simple: hand off to running back Jamal Lewis instead of throwing into 40-mph winds. Kicker Phil Dawson somehow managed to make two field goals as the Browns (9-5) tied Pittsburgh for first place. In other action:

  • Fred Taylor had the winning score inside of two minutes remaining as part of 147 yards rushing as playoff-bound Jacksonville made a statement, winning at Pittsburgh.
  • Brett Favre broke Dan Marino's record for career passing yardage as the Packers clinched a first-round bye in the playoffs with an easy win over St. Louis. Favre had two TD passes.
