Rihanna Dissed by... 60-Something Rocker?

Apparently Gene Simmons hasn't heard that people who live in glass houses—and make sex tapes with their socks on—shouldn't throw stones: While announcing an upcoming tour his band is co-headlining with Motley Crue, the KISS frontman noted that the rockers would be keeping it real. "We're sick and tired of girls getting up there with dancers and karaoke tapes in back of them," Simmons said at the press conference. "No fake bull***t. Leave that to the Rihanna, Shmianna, and anyone who ends their name with an 'A.'" Motley Crue's Tommy Lee later told Billboard Rihanna is "a great singer," but that the world needs "some personality and appeal" beyond the "watered down … pop stuff" crowding the airwaves.

Apparently bitterness is in the air, because Katy Perry, with whom Rihanna is planning a duet, also recently dished it out a bit, Us reports. Discussing the upcoming collaboration with her friend on BBC Radio 1, Perry said that she wants it to be something like "Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves," by the Eurythmics and Aretha Franklin. She does not, however, want it to sound like "Beautiful Liar," by Beyonce and Shakira. "How disappointed would you be if that song came out and it's no good?" she mused. "Sometimes you have to wait for greatness." (More Gene Simmons stories.)
