Celtics' D Dominates Raptors

Posted Dec 17, 07 3:04 AM CST in Sports

(Newser) – The Boston Celtics are on their best streak in 14 years after winning their ninth straight, 90-77, against the Raptors. And Boston isn't just riding the offensive power of the Big Three: playing without Ray Allen last night, the team held Toronto to season lows in points, baskets, and assists, reports the Boston Herald.

The 20-2 Celtics got 18 points from Paul Pierce and 16 from Kevin Garnett, as well as solid performances by Rajon Rondo and the bench. "They play good team defense," said Chris Bosh, who led the Raptors with 17 points. And he's not kidding: in one nearly 12-minute stretch, the Cs outscored Toronto 26-7.
