When it comes to the world of sports, Rick Santorum is one bad mamma jamma. Or, at least, that's what the candidate would like you to think. In an effort to connect with everyday athletic Americans everywhere (and perhaps distance himself from the more polo-esque persona of Mitt Romney), Santorum has been talking up his sports feats lately. Among them: He says he hit a golf ball 270 yards while in Idaho last month ... managing to direct it onto a floating green. In Louisiana, he says he hit a target 14 times in a row while shooting with a revolver.

He did a little batting practice at Louisiana State University (and noted that a video of it "became a little bit of a YouTube sensation because I was hitting the ball pretty good"). And then, of course, there is bowling. Though he apparently won't roll a pink ball, he does seem to love the lanes, and has hit up three alleys in five days. The Wall Street Journal reminds readers that Barack Obama infamously rolled a 37 in seven frames while he was on the stump. Brags Santorum, who bowled three strikes in a row on Saturday, "You’re going to have someone who knows how to bowl, someone who grew up like you." (More Rick Santorum stories.)
