Iran Still Sliding Iraq Arms: US

(Newser) – Stability in Iraq may be increasing, but the flow of arms and insurgents across its border with Iran has slowed little, reports the Wall Street Journal. A Pentagon report, to be presented to Congress tomorrow, will frame Iraq's overall security in a positive light, but again call into question how much credit Iran deserves—even as the White House weighs a diplomatic approach.

Though specific attacks linked to Iranian weapons have fallen off, the Pentagon maintains that Iran continues to send rockets, mortars, missiles, and training personnel. The report isn't "arguing that Iran's behavior is getting worse, but it's also not arguing that Iran's behavior is getting better," said a US officer.
