It is one of the biggest questions remaining about what happened the night George Zimmerman shot and killed Trayvon Martin—who was it heard screaming for help on that 911 call? Zimmerman claims he was the one screaming. But now two forensic experts, using different techniques, both say the voice heard in the 911 call was not Zimmerman, reports the Orlando Sentinel.
One consultant used biometric voice analysis on the call, using computers to compare recordings of Zimmerman's voice and the 911 call. The software gave the voices a 48% match, well below the 90% needed to be the same. "As a result of that, you can say with reasonable scientific certainty that it's not Zimmerman," he says. Another expert who relies on audio enhancement and human analysis came to the same conclusion. "I believe that's Trayvon Martin in the background, without a doubt," says the second analyst, noting the tone of the person's voice. "That's a young man screaming."
