(Newser) – Police in San Diego are questioning a Marine over the missing wife of a fellow serviceman. Louis Ray Perez, 45, was already in custody on an unrelated charge of possession of a AR-15 assault rifle stolen from Camp Pendleton, ABC reports. He was the last person seen with Britanny Killgore, 22, who has been missing since Friday. Police, who have been searching canyons north of the city, say Perez has been "very uncooperative" and they suspect foul play, reports the San Diego Union-Tribune. Killgore filed for divorce last week from her husband, a Marine who is serving in Afghanistan.

Killgore, 22, was last seen on Friday wearing a purple evening gown.

The guy may or may not be guilty. That's for the courts to decide. However, the fact that he is  "very uncooperative" may mean something else. Over forty years ago I was arrested in the death of a young woman I had dated six months earlier and had been killed a couple of months earlier. I was called  "very uncooperative" by the cops and newspaper. I was, in that I wouldn't confess to the murder and secondly, I wouldn't talk until I had a military lawyer present. I had a lot of cuts and bruises from being  "very uncooperative"  before a JAG lawyer showed up and politely informed them that I had just gotten back from a 5 month tour of Cuba a week earlier, thus couldn't  have killed the woman. Even then the cops were stupid and wanted more evidence. My point is that being  "very uncooperative"  doesn't necessarily make one guilty. Lot of writing. Need a beer.

It's great how Marines always has each others backs, even while you are away, they keep an eye on your family.
