Dallas, the all-time shootout champs, showed the surging Oilers how it's really done last night, taking a 2-1 shootout victory to hand Edmonton its first loss in four consecutive overtime games. Sergei Zubov scored the winning goal after going 0-3 in shootouts this year, reports the Dallas Morning News. Elsewhere in the Pacific Division:

The Ducks avenged Sunday's loss to the Sharks by winning their rematch in San Jose, 2-0. Jean-Sebastien Giguere put together his first shutout this season and newly returned Scott Niedermeyer provided an assist to help Anaheim end a three-game tailspin. "We're not going to win any games 7-0," said Giguere. "From now on, these are going to be playoff-type games." (More NHL stories.)
