(Newser) – The feds busted four TSA agents for allegedly helping drug traffickers smuggle suitcases packed with cocaine, marijuana, and meth through security at Los Angeles International Airport. The screeners are accused of accepting up to $2,400 in bribes for allowing the drugs to pass through X-ray machines and checkpoints, reports the Los Angeles Times.

In one of five incidents outlined in the indictment, a TSA agent is accused of letting 8 pounds of meth get through, then receiving $600 in cash in an LAX bathroom. The screeners face life in prison if found guilty. Three alleged drug couriers also have been indicted, one of whom got caught with 11 pounds of cocaine when he went through the wrong security checkpoint, say authorities.
