Researchers Want a Look at Junior Seau's Brain

To look for signs of repeated head trauma

(Newser) – Did Junior Seau have football-related brain damage? The Boston University Center for Traumatic Encephalopathy wants to look at his brain to find out, Peter King reports on Twitter today. The Center has studied the brains of a number of deceased football players, and almost every time it's found evidence of repeated head trauma, according to Pro Football Talk, which suspects that a Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy diagnosis on Seau would be a "watershed moment."

As if to underscore the news, more than 100 ex-NFL players today jumped onto a lawsuit against the NFL alleging that it "repeatedly refuted the connection between concussions and brain injury," and failed to "take reasonable steps necessary to protect players" from them, CNN reports. A total of more than 1,500 players have now joined on the suit.

Another case of people not wanting to take responsibility for their own actions.....what do football players think is going to happen when they sign up to get bashed daily???  What's next....boxing law suits?  Bunch of babies.

To say that they didn't know crashing their heads together might cause damage is pretty stupid.  I could tell in highschool whenever I got my "bell rung" that it couldn't be good for you.  But, I knew the risk, as they do, and decided the thrill of the game was worth it (of course it's a totally different level when the guys are 6'4 300 pounds and run like the wind)
