On the heels of its announcement that Madeleine McCann could still be alive, Scotland Yard is following up on a report that a child matching her description was spotted by a tourist at a Spanish campsite a few days after her 2007 disappearance. Accompanied by a German couple and two curly-headed tots, "She seemed alienated and completely different to her family," says the Gibraltar woman whose report was ignored at the time. She notes that the following day the girl was still wearing the same clothes; others tell police that the German couple had paid extra for showing up with an extra child. "It really was most peculiar," she says. The campsite is a few hours' drive from the Portuguese resort from which Maddy vanished, notes the Telegraph. (More Madeleine McCann stories.)
