Docs to Obama: Enough With the Burgers, Dogs
In this June 24, 2010, file photo, President Barack Obama and Russia's President Dmitry Medvedev eat hamburgers as they make an unscheduled visit to Ray's Hell Burger in Arlington, Va.   (AP Photo/Charles Dharapak, File)

Part of being president is being photographed chowing down on burgers and hot dogs, but a group of DC doctors thinks President Obama needs to put a stop to the practice. “The White House would never set up a photo op of a president with a cigarette, so why show him eating foods that cause cancer?” says a director at the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.

The group is doing more than just talking: It will file a petition this week asking for "an executive order banning staged official photo ops that depict the president, the first family, the vice president, and members of the president's Cabinet with unhealthful foods including processed meats that can cause cancer and obesity." USA Today has the full statement, which includes an impressive rundown of examples of Obama publicly eating meat. (More hamburger stories.)
