(Newser) – We might not go quite so far as Radar, which claims these 10 celebs "dangerously" transformed their physiques for their films, but we will concur the changes were nothing short of dramatic:

  • Anne Hathaway: That Catwoman suit is apparently quite unforgiving. She ate "kale and dust" to fit into it, then had to lose another 16 pounds in a matter of weeks for her role in Les Miserables.
  • Natalie Portman: Health experts were concerned when she dropped a bunch of weight for Black Swan.

  • Christian Bale: He first lost a ton of weight for his scary-skinny role in The Machinist, then did it again for The Fighter.
  • Jared Leto: He's had experience shedding a lot of weight (Requiem For a Dream) as well as bulking up (Chapter 27).
  • Kate Bosworth: After gaining muscle for Blue Crush, she quickly lost the added weight and sparked concerns of an eating disorder.

I still can't believe all the raves about "Black Swan". I had to struggle to get to the end of the movie, I kept hoping it would get better. Watch  "The Red Shoes" for a good ballet movie.

I'm dying but it's all smiles for the camera.
