TSA Finds Gun Parts in Stuffed Animals

...and it might be a 'domestic dispute' frame-up

(Newser) – Adventures in TSA screening:

  • Weird: Agents at a Providence, Rhode Island, airport screened a 4-year-old's carry-on bag on Monday and spotted a gun inside. The weapon had been disassembled and hidden in three stuffed animals, reports USA Today.
  • Weirder: Authorities took the gun but let the boy and his dad board their plane to Detroit anyway. Police suspect the man's wife, who was not traveling with them, planted the gun to get her husband in trouble as part of an "ongoing domestic dispute," reports CBS News.
  • Priceless: "The main frame was inside a bear. A magazine loaded with two .40 caliber rounds was inside a bunny, and a firing pin was inside Mickey Mouse." From WHDH in Boston.

Is this news because these incompetents actually managed to do their job and find contraband or is it just TSA propaganda so they can continue to waste our money and molest our children? It is obvious that the ex-wife planted these with the intention of making trouble for the father. TSA costs $8 billion a year to screen 680 million passengers. That costs $11.76 each but passengers only pay a $2.50 security fee, leaving $9.26 to be paid by taxpayers to fund dangerous scanners and criminal TSA workers. Even when they do find something, it is always on the x-ray belts that cost $20,000 and have been in use for 25 years. They have only found two items using scanners have cost $268 million since 2008 and not one weapon by groping passengers.
