(Newser) – Temper, temper: Young star Bryce Harper of the Washington Nationals might miss a few games after he a hurled a bat against the dugout wall and it bounced back and hit him near the eye, reports the Washington Times. He needed 10 stitches to close the cut and had a welt the size of a golf ball afterward. "I just got caught up in the moment," said Harper, who slammed the bat after grounding out as part of an 0-for-5 night. One teammate already is calling him "Bam Bam," writes Amanda Comak. The Bleacher Report has more.

Yeah - he should know better then to act like a little pedantic little brat, but hey... the show is all players like him know. For them its life or death, hit or get sent back to the minors. Big $$$ or debt and problems.  I dont blame him. Keep swinging, maybe its just a slump

You usually learn this lesson sometime around the age of 12 when you throw a temper tantrum and throw your Nintendo joystick at the television and it breaks....no more joystick.... It's called emotionally maturing, he hasn't quite got there yet!

He should miss another 5 games for acting like an over privileged brat. I've been around baseball a long time and I've played on and managed teams in adult independent leagues, and the thing i hate about it the most is the suburban bratty mentality that so many players have. I prefer to be around football players hands down. There are far fewer brats in football.
