(Newser) – Most voters are OK with President Obama's stand on gay marriage but they're pretty skeptical about the reason for the "evolution," the latest New York Times/CBS poll finds. Some 67%—including a majority of independents and almost half of Democrats—believe Obama made the announcement "mostly for political reasons," while only 24% believe he came out in favor of gay marriage "mostly because he thinks it is right." Echoing an earlier Gallup poll, the new poll found that some 60% of voters say the announcement won't affect how they vote.

Some 25%—including 43% of Republicans and 22% of independents—say it makes them less likely to vote for Obama, while 16% say it makes them more likely to choose him. The poll found 38% of Americans in favor of same-sex marriage, a proportion that is rising along with the number of people who say they have a relative, close friend, or colleague who is gay, which has risen to 69% from 44% nine years ago. “I might have been against it a long time ago, but then after meeting people who were gay, I changed my mind and had a different position," a 70-year-old Democrat in Kentucky told pollsters.

Less than a quarter of voters believe Obama's support of same-sex marriage came from the heart.

From my perspective, Obama was pro gay marriage from the start. It was for political reasons that he did not tell us that earlier, not now.

What is there to question? Obama has been attracted to men for years! he only went a long with saying he was only for a man and a woman  relationship in marriage to start with to get elected. Now he is twisting it the other way to try to get elected.Just goes to show he lies! you either believe one way or the other. And no! Jesus is not for gay marriage! so Obama can forget that issue ! and get right with God! because if you believe the word of God,You know this is not the way to live.Of course Obama cares nothing about the word of God or he would not be covering up crosses so they are not seen when he speaks in certain places. God did not make a man for a man,but woman for a man,And much more is in the word of God.No gays are not to be killed either-we all have sinned,. How they live and what they do is between them and God.But in no way> do they have the same God given unity which is bless from God and given to obey. Let me put it a little different If you live just any way,an go against the will of God and His word, you are not excepted as a saint.I think we all agree on this part.Okay,Even though all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Except you turn away from your ways not pleasing to God can you find grace before God.Again You cannot by any means live just any way and against the foundation of the word of God and be right. The very laws of nature ,even in animals, and all creatures, even some plants -is male and female.I realize people want to play God and make their own laws. Okay, one other thing ,There was a city in ancient times, where the whole city had become gay or bi sexual,in so much they called it,Sodom and Gomorrah-they had became so corrupt they even wanted to have their way with the angels of God,To make a long story short.God destroyed them all! except for one family that would not give into their ways.

I miss the days when we expected politicians to do what was good or right for the country and humanity rather than expecting them to do what might benefit themselves.  But lobby money and phony "news" organizations have changed everything.
