(Newser) – Good news for carnivores and not so good news for cattle: People who specialize in such things say they've found a new cut of beef from a cow called the "Vegas strip steak." Business Insider picks up on the weird scoop from the Drovers Cattle Network, which proclaims that the steak "is the latest and perhaps last steak to be found from the beef carcass." Patents, believe it or not, are pending.

“The tenderness of the Vegas strip steak is comparable to the New York strip steak,” says Tony Mata of the industry group Mata & Associates. “It does not require aging or marinating to achieve tenderness and its visual appeal enhances the steak eater’s overall enjoyment.”

This from the longer article:  “This steak can be fabricated from 4 ounces to 12 ounces,” Nelson said. “Versatility of this steak allows it to be utilized across a wide range of food service sectors.” FABRICATED?!!! Gross.

I used to love T-bone and sucking the marrow until all the mad cow disease which you get from the marrow. Dang, the marrow was the best part too.
