(Newser) – When Prince William first started planning his wedding to Kate Middleton, he was handed the original guest list, with 777 names on it—"not one person I knew or Catherine knew," he reveals in an ITV1 documentary about Queen Elizabeth airing next month. He took the list to his grandmother and asked what to do. Her response: "Get rid of it. Start from your friends and then we’ll add those we need to in due course. It’s your day."

In the new interview, William also says he's become closer to the Queen as he's gotten older, the Telegraph reports. "I think being a small boy it’s very daunting seeing the Queen around and not really quite knowing what to talk about or what to ask her," he explains. Despite his professed admiration for his grandmother, there's one thing he doesn't understand: the royal corgis. "They’re barking all the time ... I don’t know how she copes with it," he says. (More from the barrage of Queen Elizabeth news in anticipation of her Diamond Jubilee: It turns out she has someone to break in her shoes for her.)

And because of this closeness, she had invited his in-laws on the boat trip down the Thames. I wonder if Zara's in-laws were invited if not, then she has grandchildren she likes best..

Seems Newser feels it has to resort to the supermarket checkout tabloid headline mode to get readers! ....just saying...sensationalism sells at the checkout...here, well...really, Newser shame on you!
