(Newser) – If you're yearning for a little beach time this summer, California's Coronado Beach is the place to be, according to an annual survey. The top 5 winners in the survey, which takes into account a host of factors including water quality and safety:

  1. Coronado Beach, California
  2. Kahanamoku Beach, Waikiki

Coronado is mighty pretty, no doubt, but the beach is FAR from the nearest parking and the water is chilly related to other nearby beaches.  Having to hike to get wet, then retreat because it's too cold - Coronado isn't the best beach in even just San Diego.
