Call it a missed opportunity tonight as the Orlando Magic saw Paul Millsap, a guy they passed on in last year's draft, score 28 points in a 113-94 win for the Utah Jazz in Florida. The Magic fell to 5-7 on its home floor this season despite the usual double-double from Dwight Howard and 27 points from Hedo Turkoglu. Elsewhere:

  • A motivational speech from Dr. J wasn't enough as the L.A. Lakers, led by Andrew Bynum and Lamar Odom, won at Philadelphia by five points. Kobe had a quiet 21 points for LA.
  • The Hawks got a rare win at Washington, 97-92, led by a big rebounding edge and strong game from Joe Johnson, who totaled 32 points.
