The Father's Day ad.   (JCPenney via Joe. My. God.)

(Newser) – Looks like JCPenney is sticking it to those who slammed Ellen DeGeneres' hiring as its spokeswoman. The company's new Father's Day ad shows two "real-life" dads playing with their two actual kids, JCPenney says. "First Pals: What makes Dad so cool?" the ad's copy asks, according to blogger Joe. My. God. "He's the swim coach, tent maker, best friend, bike fixer and hug giver—all rolled into one. Or two." The ad, Gawker notes, follows the American Family Association's One Million Moms' attempt to launch a boycott over DeGeneres' hiring earlier this year.

I commend them for their efforts. It still does not make me want to run out and shop there. It is a moral and ethical thing. As well as a Quality thing....but more a moral issue. I can not buy clothes(or other household items) blindly. No regard to where and by whom it was made. I try and make my shopping as centralized around the American Economy as much as possible....Meaning either by the MADE IN THE USA marker.....OR second hand, where I know my money is going towards something bigger the a CEO's pocket or over all profit driving. I think a more moral thing they could strive to do would be to bring back a reason to manufacture in this country....By only carrying products that are made in America....Slap a couple of dads or a few mama's into that advertising campaign and you have just re-won the hearts of ALOT MORE Americans! I guess for now I can shut up and be happy with the little progress that is being made.......Baby steps...This is America after all.....

WOW...based on this article and the comments, I must ask myself, "is this where America and our world is today"? Just because two dads are playing with their loved ones in a family scene means they are Gay? WOW, is this where we have arrived? My childhood was a very rough one and quite a struggle within a family of 7. My father worked from Sun up to Sun down. He was a VERY RUGGED man without one iota of homosexual desires. No matter how tired or how hard he had worked for the day, my father found time in the evening to 'rough house' he called it with me and four brothers. My father was my 'CHAMPION' who taught me MANY good things in life. Among those MANY good things of father to son intimate times NOT ONE SINGLE TIME WHATSOEVER was done so in a perverted or homosexual manner. NOT ONE! Instead, my father taught me to be gentle yet rugged in character with respect and family love for my brothers, mother and him. If a photographer had seen me and my brothers crawling all over my father in a family loving scuffle and posted it in today's times and national mentality, no doubt we would be labeled much different than what we were. Why has American father's lost their innocence and the children the same? Perhaps it is the calculated toll of satan himself who is destroying American families with the ever increasing Gay Rights and sinful stuff those sick folks bring to our present day society. Is this where we have arrived?
