Virginia Tech Shooter Was A Student

Posted Apr 17, 07 9:19 AM CDT in US

(Newser) – A Virginia Tech senior, Cho Seung-Hui, has been identified as the shooter in yesterday's massacre. Cho, from South Korea, lived in a campus dormitory; his motive, which some speculate grew from rage over a soured relationship, remains unclear.

Ballistics tests show that at least one of the same weapons was used in both the dormitory and Norris Hall shootings. One unconfirmed report claims that Cho, who shot himself after killing 32 others, wore a backpack that held a receipt for the purchase of a Glock 9mm. The shooting has spurred a new debate on gun control; presidential candidate John McCain has already come out to reaffirm his support for the 2nd amendment.
