Niners Victorious as Tampa Gears up for Playoffs

Posted Dec 23, 07 11:24 PM CST in Sports

(Newser) – The 49ers proved nearly not up to the task of dealing with Tampa's second string, as quarterback Jeff Garcia and many other starters were removed before the half, the AP reports. Still, SF did manage to eke out a 21-19 victory to win their second straight, as QB Shaun Hill threw for 123 yards and three TDs. In other NFL action:

Redeeming a botched field goal that led to a loss to San Francisco last week, Cardinals' kicker Neil Rackers split the uprights once to send the game into overtime, and again to lead Arizona to a 30-27 win over the Falcons. Kurt Warner threw for 361 yards and three touchdowns, and Atlanta's Chris Redman threw for a career high 315 yards.
